hey donald, i found your blog off photoblogs before realising you are the same guy that wrote folderblog (great job by the way, still setting mine up at the mo). Your photography seems to be as good as your coding but how did you get the date and time on each of your images using folderbog?

luke Luke, folderblog currently doesn't support metadata. My site is MySQL powered, and I manually copy/paste the metadata (I use a Photoshop plugin to export it) into a custom backend. In theory it is possible, though, because you can read metadata directly from images in PHP, but I didn't include it in folderblog because I've never found a way to preserve the metadata after resizing and postproccessing in Photoshop. I've researched it breifly just now and although there doesn't seem to be a way to embed exif data inside a processed jpg there are programs that will export exif data into separate image named txts, one of which is MetaReader http://www.pixelgenius.com/metareader.html which I've just tried out (freeware) and it seems to work fine. Its not ideal in that it would probably be hard to format the data in the txt (they havn't released this part of the programas yet) and its just more external info to have on the server (image, image thumb, image exif data) but its the only thing I found which seems to come close.
